Makeup is you expressing creativity, a decorative artificial surface that works to contrast the person wearing it, reflecting trends, culture and history. My illustrations for my thesis work Beautysleeping Crybaby tells the story about makeup with everything it political and emotional inherents, but also focuses on the sensuous and intimate affair of dealing with makeup. The beauty ritual without concerns about the result and finished look. That perfect eyeliner wing, concealing darkness under eyes or redness on skin. The ritual is about your movements when putting on that creme, watching your reflection in the mirror, almost like meditation.
